Why Bamboo?

Bamboo is actually 16% harder than maple making it a superior material for cutting boards & house wares. Our unique products are handcrafted using flattened bamboo strips. Our cutting boards are laminated with our own approved food grade adhesive. We do not use stains or paint. Through a very specialized heating process, the natural sugar in the wood is caramelized producing the beautiful honey color. This color is permantent and will not wash off. Bamboo is a grass the grows to a harvestable height between 3 to 4 years, some species grow 2 feet per day. it has an extensive root system that continually sends up new shoots, naturally replenishing itself. It does not require replanting making it one of the world's most renewable resources.
